Job Description

Resolute Performance Iron is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to support our AISC certified fabrication facility in Phoenix, AZ.  The Quality Assurance Manager position is responsible for the total Quality Management Program and assures that each project's performance meets contract and AISC requirements.  This position administers the Resolute Performance Iron QC/QA plan and reports directly to the Director of Operations and the Division Manager. This position has full responsibility for assuring contract and AISC objectives and standards are met.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop plans and procedures for all QC programs
• Implement Quality Assurance plans and procedures to maintain AISC compliance
• Manage all applicable submittal processes as required by AISC
• Compile all necessary inspection reports and documentation as per AISC standard practices for each project's record keeping
• Recognize and implement any additional training for shop personnel with the intent to continually strive for quality excellence
• Monitor and control all non-conformance reports and undertake all required remedial actions
• Report all issues, problems, accomplishments, results of surveys, inspections, meetings and observations relating to the performance of Resolute Performance Iron shop quality to the Director of Operations or the Division Manager
• Ensure all technical documents relative to Resolute Performance Iron quality control are of current status
• Occasional visits to outsourced fabricators to do quality control inspections

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret design drawings and fully understand steel shop assembly drawings
• Possess a good understanding of the following publications:
  • AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2, AWS D1.3, AWS D1.4, AWS D1.6
  • AISC Code of Standard Practice
  • ASTM codes related to structural steel
  • SSPC Manuals 1 & 2
• Must have +5 years of steel fabrication experience in preparing and enforcing Quality Control programs per AISC guidelines
• Knowledge of weld symbols
• Ensure that all welds are per Resolute Performance Iron PQR/WPS
• Experience with Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Tekla EPM
