Job Description

As a line cook at Hani's Bakery + Café, you can expect to prep and execute our savory menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soups, and other made-to-order items. You will rotate between the prep and service stations. We're looking for someone who understands the value of teamwork, is kind and respectful to colleagues, is clean and organized, and is excited to learn and grow within the company. A willingness to work pastry and baking stations, which includes the production of cakes, cookies, pies, pastries, breads, and viennoiserie, is welcomed but not mandatory.

• Demonstrate an understanding of cooking techniques, production, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
• Consistently ensure that station mise en place is prepped, seasoned, and stocked throughout service and that the station remains clean and organized overall.
• Effectively participates in a professionally run service period, ensuring cooking, timing, assembly, and communication excellence according to the standards taught by the culinary leaders. 
• Maintain a sound and inquisitive working knowledge of ingredients and retain new knowledge of ingredients and techniques in preparation of our menu. 
• Communicate effectively, respectfully, and hospitably with all teams throughout the day and during service.
• Maintain an orderly and neat work area, displaying calm professionalism to promote food quality and reduce waste. Follow all recipes, portioning, proper storage, and FIFO to minimize waste.

What we need from you:

• 1+ years in a Line Cook position at a full-service restaurant/cafe or similar experience
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs of weight
• Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays
• Expected to work approximately 40-50 hours a week
• English fluency and additional languages are preferred but not required
