Land Surveyor-Field Technician
Overview:
We're currently hiring a Land Surveyor to join our survey crew in South Carolina. This role involves daily outdoor work, conducting various surveys for public and private clients, including boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, powerline, gas line, and construction surveys. The successful candidate must be willing to travel, highly motivated, and detail-oriented. Entry-level surveyors will handle diverse assignments, learning the methods of the work.

Responsibilities:
* Support the Party Chief in executing land surveys as directed.
* Manage the maintenance and inventory of surveying equipment and the survey vehicle.
* Maintain accurate records and fulfill necessary reporting requirements.
* The Survey Field Technician I role, an entry-level position, emphasizes fundamental aspects of land surveying aligned with SW+ general standards.
* This position actively contributes to the survey team's daily field operations, engaging in tasks such as cutting lines, holding rods, and loading/unloading equipment.
* As a Survey Field Technician, proactive participation is encouraged, promoting questions and seeking mentorship to enhance comprehension of the land surveying profession.
Qualifications:
* Ready and willing to travel, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility, motivation, and attention to detail.
* Preferably hold a High School Diploma or GED.
* No previous field survey experience necessary.
* Quick to grasp or possess knowledge of mathematics, survey computer programs, and relevant survey computations.
* Proficient in learning the use of mechanical drawing instruments or survey computer programs.
* Skilled in learning and utilizing surveying instruments and equipment, including understanding their maintenance.
* Quick learner of the principles and practices of land surveying.
* Familiarity or ability to learn state laws governing plats, property lines, and survey monuments.
* Adept at record-keeping, report preparation, and related correspondence.
* Successfully passed DOT drug/alcohol testing.
* Holds a valid driver's license and can pass a driving record check.
