Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced IT Project Manager to join our dynamic Enterprise Systems Department. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the strategic implementation of new technology solutions and the support of existing systems. You will collaborate closely with a variety of stakeholders to ensure projects are executed effectively within the defined scope, budget, and timeline.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of project management, including time and resource management, scope management, issue and risk management, and project execution.
Direct and monitor the work of project teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Foster strong relationships with stakeholders through regular communication, negotiations regarding scope and schedule adjustments, and ongoing progress reporting.
Shape client expectations and oversee project scope, risks, and budget management.
Proactively identify potential project risks and consult with stakeholders and leadership to develop and execute mitigation strategies.
Oversee user acceptance testing and provide comprehensive test cases and scenarios for UAT.
Qualifications:
8-10 years of relevant job experience.
Effective analytical and presentation skills.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences, including management, stakeholders, users, and technical teams.
Demonstrated experience using JIRA and other project management tools.
Preferred experience in both project management and business analysis within the same project.
Strong understanding of Agile Software Development Lifecycle processes, including incremental/iterative and Waterfall methodologies.
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
Experience working with web application development teams utilizing technologies such as Java and Drupal.
Excellent organizational, time management, and professionalism skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Experience in research or educational institutions, or small IT companies, is preferred.
Sample Projects You May Work On:
Supporting internal researchers and staff with tools for proposal management, compliance, researcher dashboards, talent management software, and financial applications.
In-house Java development, web development, Cognos reports, and implementation of Jira Service Desk management.
Integration of third-party software and enterprise systems, as well as database and systems infrastructure projects.
Education Requirements:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Accounting, IT, or a related field is required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
