Job Description
The Director of Global Security Services is responsible for enterprise physical security and physical security related risk management and is the firm's physical security subject matter expert. Global Security Services is a proprietary physical security department comprised of armed and unarmed leaders and associates, who are employees or associates of Edward Jones, and unarmed contract security personnel. The Director is a Leader of Leaders leading and managing the Global Security Services Department. The purpose of Global Security Services is to deliver, in partnership, effective security services that provide a safe and secure environment for our clients, associates, visitors and guests; our information, and our assets; and enables Edward Jones to provide financial services.
Global Security Services responds to incidents; duress alarms activations; branch calls/emails; and emergencies. Escalated threats to associates are assessed, mitigated, and reviewed by the firm's Threat Management Team. The Director is responsible for a department comprised of the following functions: Home Office Security, Branch Office Security, International/Domestic Travel & Event Security, Threat Assessment, Security Education and Awareness, Executive Safety & Security, Protective Intelligence, OSHA compliance, Physical Security Systems, and Life Safety.
Key Responsibilities: - Responsible for department vision, strategy, structure, talent, objectives, priorities, resource utilization, financial stewardship, and policies.
- Champion innovation, and operational efficiency and effectiveness, across areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for department vision, strategy, structure, talent, objectives, priorities, resource utilization, financial stewardship, and policies.
- Provide executive leadership support for multi-year plans and strategic initiatives.
- Provide thought leadership, influence, or otherwise lead major physical security projects or initiatives.
- Develop and deliver upon physical security strategy in support of and in alignment with the business. Specifically, drive implementation of security strategy and objectives in alignment with and in support of Edward Jones business objectives and Edward Jones culture.
- Serve as a physical security risk subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal stakeholders to advocate for appropriate, balanced, and reasonable risk mitigation about physical security risks.
- Monitor and assess physical security risk to Edward Jones and Edward Jones' associates and, in collaboration with stakeholders, ensure that internal and external events and emerging risks are assessed, and managed accordingly.
- Oversee the development, review, maintenance and delivery of training, policies, procedures and security education and awareness products related to the effective and efficient delivery of security services to Edward Jones and Edward Jones' associates, and to effective associate response to physical security risks, life safety risks and emergencies.
- Maintain knowledge of physical security and life safety best practices, trends, and their implication to Edward Jones, by engaging in continuous learning.
- Collaborate with the business to include, functional areas and risk partners, to ensure physical security risks are identified, mitigated, and satisfactorily resolved.
Experience Needed: - Bachelors Degree Required, Masters Degree Preferred
- 15+ years relevant physical security/crisis management leader of leader leadership experience in corporate, university, military, or law enforcement.
- Substantive and progressive leader of leader leadership experience in law enforcement as a sworn law enforcement officer.
- Proven strong leadership and management skills and the ability to secure results through others.

- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to build and maintain internal and external executive level relationships.
- Ability to understand business context and physical security challenges; and apply appropriate security strategies and solutions in response to risks and requirements.
- This is an armed position. Ability to obtain a valid Armed Security Officer license issued by the Private Security Section, St. Louis County, MO Police Department, Concealed Carry Permit, or Law Enforcement Safety Act certification.
