Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide virtual instruction for a K-5 Behavior Support Classroom. This role offers the unique opportunity to work remotely, supporting students with diverse needs such as Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and Autism.

As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging online lessons to a small caseload of 7-8 students. You will create individualized learning plans to meet each child's academic and behavioral goals, ensuring they thrive in a virtual learning environment. Your expertise will be crucial in helping students develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality online instruction and behavioral support for K-5 students with emotional and behavioral needs.
Develop and implement personalized Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the unique learning and behavioral needs of each student.
Foster a positive and supportive virtual classroom environment, ensuring students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn.
Work closely with families and multidisciplinary support teams to create a collaborative, well-rounded educational experience for each student.
Regularly monitor student progress and adjust strategies to promote success.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other team members to ensure goals are being met.

Ideal Candidate:

A state-certified Special Education Teacher with experience working with students with behavioral and emotional needs.
Skilled in creating and implementing IEPs.
Comfortable using virtual teaching tools and adapting strategies to fit the virtual classroom.
Excellent communicator who can build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs.
