POSITION SUMMARY:

As an Intern for Amtrak ADA Stations Program, you will learn the foundational principles in project design/management on a wide range of complex projects in a real-world rail industry environment of design. You will work under close supervision of a project manager and in collaboration with all levels of stakeholders: from department leaders to program/ project managers, and functional leads. Assisting in the completion of all phases of a project life cycle, including pre-construction, construction and post-construction activities, design development, construction design documentation, and construction delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist Project Managers in developing monthly and special reports, such as requests for proposals (RFPs), station design layouts, and construction documentation that support the daily activities of the Project design management team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Architecture.
  • Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant work experience (e.g., internships, school jobs)
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Worked with AutoCAD or Bluebeam software.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

 

The hourly range is $17.50 per hour - $35.00 per hour. Pay is based on factors including school year, program of study, etc. In addition, paid internships include Amtrak rail pass privileges as a part of the experience along with one (1) PTO day per academic year.

 

Summer 2025 internship program will run from May 19th - August 8, 2025.
