Job Description

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Project Manager supporting our Secure Power Division.

Location: remote in the U.S.

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the complete and satisfactory execution of the entire project and reports to the Director of Design Build Construction. The primary role of the Project Manager is to manage the finances of the project. In this role the PM is responsible for any aspect of the project that will affect the profitability while meeting the contract requirements and maintaining Owner satisfaction. The Project Manager is the company representative who deals with the outside world (Owner, design professionals, vendors); therefore, is ultimately responsible for success or failure of the project.

What will you do?
  • Thoroughly understand the project contract, schedule, budget, and overall scope.
  • Facilitate regular OAC meetings.
  • Facilitate regular construction meetings. (Coordination w/ Super for meeting agenda)
  • Prepare and submit the schedule of values (SOV) to the Owner.
  • Identify scope gaps/duplication from sub-contracts and purchase orders (PO).
  • Prepare and approve scope and cost for subcontractor agreement for processing by the Contracts Team.
  • Prepare and approve scope and cost for PO for processing by the Purchasing Team
  • Identify and track changes to the project, prepare potential change orders (PCO) to the owner when necessary.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices to be processed by the Accounting Team.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor back charges.
  • Work with "Project Site Engineer" to load all pertinent project information on ProCore.
  • Work with "Project Scheduler" to write/update the project schedule and coordinate with Super to track project against the schedule.
  • Write weekly report to Owner and other Shareholders; if not participating in weekly OAC meetings.
  • Organizing and coordinating field supervision.
  • Assisting in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Developing, monitoring, updating, and communicating the progress schedule and its periodic revisions.
  • Managing subcontractor schedules, quality of work, coordination with other trades, and payments.
  • Creating and maintaining a safe/secure jobsite environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with the Owner, design professional, building officials, local businesses, and police and fire departments.
  • Provide oversite on RFI and Submittal processes.
  • Maintain the Daily Log for the project, recording hours worked, material delivery, project status and safety incidents.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • BA/ BS degree in Business or Engineering preferred. PMP Certification is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management/ project execution.
  • Understands finance, tender management, contract proposals, order entry, and purchasing.
  • Understands Project site/ Contractor management
  • Has a basic technical understanding of electrical contracts/components.
