What You Will Do:

 

Role Overview

 

The Origination Technical Lead will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and supporting technical diligence processes for Solar Distributed Generation and energy storage projects across North America. This role will involve qualifying new business opportunities, supporting origination efforts in initial sizing, design, equipment selection and pricing of project ranging from 1-20MWac. The Origination Technical Lead will ensure consistency in business development activities, acting as a bridge between the commercial and technical teams.

 

Main Accountabilities:

 

  1. Technical Support to Business Development:
    • Provide accurate and insightful technical information to advance business development activities.
    • Able to read and confirm customer bills have accurately been modeled.
    • Collaborate with internal departments by facilitating communication between commercial and technical teams.
    • Ensure consistency across business development to develop the technical aspects of proposal and negotiation activities.

 

  1. Equipment Selection, Production and Specifications and Pricing Estimation
    • Support in initial sizing, design, and equipment selection activities, assuring full alignment with the internal Delivery teams such as the Engineering, Development and Construction departments.
    • Provide basic layouts and production analysis based on design specifications and customer requirements.
    • Recommending options for cost savings and optimization of designs / installation.

 

  1. Third Party Management and Oversight:
    • Manage third-party consultants for design, engineering, permitting, and site evaluation activities.
    • Provide critical insights, review deliverables and suggest optimizations to technical solutions.
    • Ensure timely completion of all tasks and meet critical deadlines.

 

  1. Technical Outlooks and Expertise:
    • Stay updated on energy market design, regulations, and incentives in North America.
    • Assist in identifying new technologies for design implementation.
    • Research market and competition to identify potential best practices.

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • +3 years of experience in solar development, including technical and client-facing roles.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and working with various stakeholders in the energy industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products preferred.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, communication skills, and technology expertise.
  • Willingness to become a subject matter expert in renewable energy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary hiring range: $125,000-$160,000
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of many compensation, benefits, and other reward opportunities we provide.
