Job Description

Job Purpose:

We're looking for a motivated Mortgage Loan Officer to join our dynamic team! In this role, you'll report directly to the Mortgage Sales Manager and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work environment. While you'll have the option to work from home or one of our office locations, occasional travel to meet with clients and attend office meetings will be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Connect with clients to offer residential mortgage solutions
- Convert inbound and outbound sales leads into loan applications
- Assess clients' financial needs and recommend the best product and rate options
- Meet and exceed monthly sales performance goals

Essential Functions:

- Originate, negotiate, and process residential mortgage loans
- Provide counseling and advice to loan applicants
- Collect and verify information and documents from applicants and other parties
- Determine and communicate interest rates, points, and fees associated with loans
- Manage the collection of charges and other amounts from loan applicants
- Monitor loan application statuses and keep all relevant parties informed
- Coordinate loan processing and closing with team members
- Address inquiries and resolve disputes related to loan closings
- Share information about loan products, rates, and services with real estate professionals
- Attend meetings and presentations conducted by the company and real estate firms
- Prepare accurate reports and ensure proper documentation and retention
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing and negotiating loans in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with loan processing guidelines, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA
- Strong knowledge of standard loan practices, documents, and real estate terminology
- Comprehensive understanding of the mortgage market
- Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred
- Must be based in California

Compensation:

- $52,000 - $200,000 per year plus commission (1099)
