Immigration Legal Assistant

FAMILIA AMERICA, LLC (FA) is seeking self-motivated and detail-oriented candidates to work as an immigration legal assistant at its Taylorsville, Utah office OR remotely to support its team on family-based immigration cases across the United States. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of immigration experience to support attorney in preparing and filing family - based immigrant and non-immigrant petitions and applications, including USCIS, National Visa Center, and Consular Practice Experience withI-130, I-485, I-864, I-134, I-131F, I-765, I-131, I-129F, I-821D, DS-160, DS-260. Employment immigration experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma
Bilingual in Spanish and English Required
Willingness to be trained and follow established operating procedures and protocols.
Ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently
Proficient with Google email, drive, docs, and hangouts, and Office 365 suite including Word, Excel, and ability to learn contemporary technology in law practice.
Experience with Docketwise a plus, but not required.Inherently methodical and organizedStrong attention to detail.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Advanced Computer/Typing and Software Skills.
Frequently communicates with clients and team members and must be able to share information effectively.
Detail Oriented and Above Average Writing Skills.
Able to prioritize conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
Able to interface with personnel at all levels.
Heavy Email Communications Experience
Proactively leverage and share knowledge with colleagues, and often work independently
Punctual & Professional
Standing 1-2 hours daily
Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds
Work Authorization in the United States
Duties include:
Preparing and filing immigration applications, including non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions with the USCIS, National Visa Center, U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Department of Labor.
Preparing supporting cover letters for all visa applications and immigrant petitions. Gathering evidence and preparing supporting documents, statements, and exhibits from clients and complying with procedural requirements.
Analyzing, reviewing, and organizing documents and data from materials produced and preparing and coordinating document production and responses to USCIS Requests for Evidence (RFE).
Addressing client case status inquiries, including case progress, remaining steps in the process, processing timeframes, and consular appointment issues.
Scanning Filings and documents
Creating physical files to digital files
Pulling files for meetings and returning them to where they belong
Creating files for new clients
Making copies
Preparing Federal Express mail and other standard mail
Filing receipts/notices/correspondence in physical file
Speak with vendors/deliveries to the office
Greet clients (infrequently)Assist legal assistants, operations manager, and attorney as needed
$22.00 to $24.00 per hour depending on experience 30 - 40 hours hours per week
Monday- Friday preferred 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. MST (Can accommodate based upon applicant and the time zone)

Paid Holidays include: Thanksgiving day, Day after Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Rate Increase review will be made 6 months following the initial probation period.
