Dr. Ciurea is a leading expert in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and cellular therapies, focusing on developing advanced therapeutic approaches for patients with hematologic malignancies. With extensive research experience, Dr. Ciurea is dedicated to exploring innovative cellular therapies to improve outcomes for patients undergoing HSCT. His lab investigates the biological mechanisms underlying stem cell graft rejection, immune reconstitution, and strategies to enhance graft-versus-leukemia effects while minimizing complications. The lab's cutting-edge research involves close collaboration with clinical teams to translate findings into therapeutic applications that directly benefit patients.
Your Role on the Team Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and Cell Therapy Lab Director, this SRA 2 - NEX position is focused on a project studying the biology, characterization, and related functions of NK cells. Key responsibilities include culturing NK cells and tumor cells, conducting routine biological assays such as ELISAs, PCR, cytotoxicity testing, and flow cytometry, as well as maintaining accurate data records for experiments. The role also involves managing lab supplies, equipment, and inventory to ensure smooth lab operations, while organizing and maintaining data records related to the research activities.

Required: - Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in handling supplies, equipment, and inventory
- Ability to read and follow detailed written instructions
- Knowledge and operation of routine lab equipment (power supplies, incubators, hoods, etc.)
- Animal experience
- Ability to record results and observations and maintain an organized, legible lab notebook
- Ability to use Macintosh or PC computers
- Knowledge and operation of routine lab equipment (power supplies, incubators, hoods, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, Developmental Biology, etc.
- 1-3 years previous laboratory experience
- 1-3 years Mammalian cell culture experience
- 1-3 flow cytometry experience
Preferred: - Master's degree in science discipline such as biology, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, developmental biology, etc.
