Job Duties and Qualifications

  • With broad direction, leads the Center of Excellence function within the Design & Construction segment of the company's Real Estate Services organization to support enhanced facility and mechanical plant design, development and operations globally.
  • Consciously delivers long term improvements to the organization and provides support of the organization's strategies.
  • Provides project related expertise and direction to promote positive growth, profitability, and efficiency within property portfolio and plant design/specification standards & guidelines.
  • Utilizes core knowledge of Company business practices and Design & Construction industry as well as Project Management expertise to collaborate, coordinate and manage user expectations to realize successful projects.
  • Critical decision making responsibility associated with feasibility of investments.
  • Translates the business facility needs into an overall project plan in preparation for internal request for capital leading to property development.
  • Provides oversight of the purpose and status of all projects and uses this oversight to support project-level activity to ensure overall program goals are met by providing program perspective and approaches to solving project issues that have program impacts.
  • Coordinates diverse activities primarily focused on the design, construction and/or renovation of company office, laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, workshop, plants, and site infrastructure and utilities.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering, drilling fluids plants, cementing bulk plants, chemical reaction plants is a plus.
  • Identifies and manages cross-project dependencies and provides insight of the risk, issues, requirements, design or solutions to be able to usefully manage these.
  • Source of expertise on projects in support of the organization's strategies.
  • Sound understanding of Company facility operational needs and internal processes as well as a thorough understanding of the design and construction industry.
  • Serves as a link between business operations and design & construction industry.
  • Expertise and authority for a given business process and understands how various functions impact other areas.
  • Demonstrates ability to conceive and develop creative/innovative solutions for facilities design and operations leading to property development.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Takes ownership of area of expertise and is respected for knowledge and experience by peers.
  • Advises Program and Project Managers on project specific needs.
  • Directs internal and external subject matter experts toward long- and short-term facility design and operation solutions.
  • Supports projects and operations globally. Supervises and mentors a team of technical planners.


Requirements:

  • Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Science, or similar discipline and 15 years of experience in the oilfield services and/or design and construction industries.
