Job Description

"I Said Sit!" School For Dogs in Los Angeles, CA is looking for a full time dog trainer at our dog training school to join our team. We are located on 3368 S Robertson Blvd. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and engaged. Our training methods are rewards-based, primarily utilizing positive reinforcement training. We utilize science based training. You must share a common training style.

Apply if you are an experienced trainer who can work with dogs and coach the pet parents :

• Certified trainer, experienced with clients and classes.(upper pay range, and we help pay for CEUs to maintain certifications)
• We are open to talented trainers with out certification who are interested in pursuing a certification but you need to have a lot of qualified experience to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Teaching clients in one on one sessions
• Running classes
• Working daily with dogs in day school or boarding for lessons
• Experience with or willing to learn to work with reactive/fearful/anxious/aggressive dogs
• Share and create educational materials
• Keep detailed training records and follow up with clients
• Supervising small playgroups
• Recommending nonaversive retail products
• Helping track and manage facility needs
• Fill in with kennel duties as needed

Qualifications

• Understanding of and experience with reward based training of basic obedience
• Experience teaching class and one on one session
• Comfort and interest in behavior cases
• Hand on experience training a variety of dogs
• Ability to get to work on time with reliable transportation
• Excellent people skills
• Hands on experience with training dogs and coaching people
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Work 4 weekdays and 1 weekend shift
