Job Description

"I Said Sit!" School For Dogs in Los Angeles, CA is looking for a full time dog trainer at our dog training school to join our team. We are located on 3368 S Robertson Blvd. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and engaged. Our training methods are rewards-based, primarily utilizing positive reinforcement training. We utilize science based training. You must share a common training style.

Apply if you are an experienced trainer who can work with dogs and coach the pet parents :

Certified trainer, experienced with clients and classes.(upper pay range, and we help pay for CEUs to maintain certifications)
We are open to talented trainers with out certification who are interested in pursuing a certification but you need to have a lot of qualified experience to be considered.

Responsibilities

Teaching clients in one on one sessions
Running classes
Working daily with dogs in day school or boarding for lessons
Experience with or willing to learn to work with reactive/fearful/anxious/aggressive dogs
Share and create educational materials
Keep detailed training records and follow up with clients
Supervising small playgroups
Recommending nonaversive retail products
Helping track and manage facility needs
Fill in with kennel duties as needed

Qualifications

Understanding of and experience with reward based training of basic obedience
Experience teaching class and one on one session
Comfort and interest in behavior cases
Hand on experience training a variety of dogs
Ability to get to work on time with reliable transportation
Excellent people skills
Hands on experience with training dogs and coaching people
Strong written and verbal skills
Work 4 weekdays and 1 weekend shift
