Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and creative Fine Jewelry Designer to join our dynamic team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, a deep understanding of precious materials, the necessary technical skills, and commercial manufacturing awareness to create innovative jewelry that reflects both our brand’s vision and our client’s desires.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design Creation: Develop original and innovative jewelry designs that align with current trends and client specifications. Utilize sketching, CAD software, and other design tools to create detailed and accurate design representations.
  • Rapid Prototyping and 3D Print technology awareness: Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples. Work with artisans and manufacturers to ensure the designs are translated accurately into finished products.
  • Client Interaction: Meet with clients to understand their vision and requirements for custom pieces. Provide expert advice on design options, materials, and techniques.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market demands, and competitive landscape to inspire and inform design decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to ensure that design concepts align with brand messaging and promotional strategies.
  • Quality Control: Review final products to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship before they are delivered to clients or placed in the store.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of designs, material specifications, and production processes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in fine jewelry design, with a proven portfolio of original designs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Jewelry Design, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications or courses in jewelry design are a plus.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in design software such as CAD (e.g., Rhino, Matrix, JewelCAD, Z Brush).
  • Strong understanding of gemstone properties, metalworking techniques, and jewelry construction.
  • Ability to create innovative commercial designs that are manufacturable.
  • Excellent sketching and visualization skills.
  • Creative thinking with an eye for detail and craftsmanship.
  • Must understand the jewelry manufacturing process.
  • Ability to scale designs to hit price points.
  • Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000

Office Hours:
