Our client, a top law firm, in downtown Chicago is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of their firm. This role combines strategic financial planning with day-to-day management of the firm's financial activities, requiring both technical expertise and leadership skills. This role is budgeted up to $140,000 plus competitive year-end bonus based on individual and firm performance. The schedule is hybrid, with 3 days per week onsite.

Finance Manager Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the firm's goals
• Manage the firm's budget and forecasting processes
• Oversee financial reporting and analysis for partners and management
• Monitor key performance indicators and prepare management reports
• Lead the annual budgeting and planning process

• Oversee billing processes, including time entry review and client invoicing
• Monitor and analyze billable hours, utilization rates and realization
• Evaluate profitability by practice area, partner and client
• Assist in pricing strategies for alternative fee arrangements

• Manage a team of finance and billing professionals
• Provide mentorship and guidance to finance staff
• Collaborate with partners and practice group leaders on financial matters
• Serve as liaison between finance department and firm management

Finance Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA preferred
• 7+ years of financial management experience
• Professional or financial service industry experience required
• Experience with financial management systems
