Where you’ll Work: This Internship will be working with the Financial Analysis department where you will be responsible for owning one or more projects assigned to you at the beginning of the week. Some departmental tasks can include assisting with pricing guarantees, rebates, contracts, client payments, etc. During summer internship, you will have the opportunity to collaborate within your department and across the business- and learn from some of our brightest and most innovative employees in your area of focus. What you’ll do: Cigna’s 10 – 12 week summer internship program is designed to help further develop your skills and give you experience working in a dynamic environment. This opportunity will give you the chance to be a part of the following offerings: "Real work”: through an Intern Project in which you may be able to: Gain valuable knowledge on the client operations area of finance Conduct research, related to your assigned project(s) Perform data analysis and reporting Make or assist in making oral/written presentations to management Collaborate cross-functionally to advance your assigned project(s) Provide data related to project(s) along with answering questions surrounding the data researched Community: Build relationships with our business partners, team members and other interns. Leader Speaker Series: You and your fellow interns will be exposed to a variety of sessions and presentations given by members of the Cigna community. What you need to do the job: Ideal candidates will be progressing toward a bachelor’s degree, and have completed 3 years in desired majors including, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or related field. 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred Intermediate MS Excel functions SQL, Teradata knowledge is a plus Must have analytical data experience (projects, coursework, internships, etc.) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong business aptitude and problem solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Being a self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills
Additional Information: Location: Hybrid in St Louis, MO. A hybrid position means that you will be expected to work in-person at your assigned office location 3 days a week (T, W, TH) with flexibility to work at home for balance of time. The internship is paid and housing assistance is not offered. Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week for 10 weeks in summer 2025, beginning May 19, 2025. Market Range: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $24/hr depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location. Work Authorization: One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa support including H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM, etc., now or in the future. If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
