Yes County Albany Street Address 625 Broadway City Albany State NY Zip Code 12233 Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. Duties Description This position will perform business management duties for the Conservationist Magazine. The incumbent's technical and business skills will assist in meeting department goals.Job duties include:-Review Conservationist Magazine contracts and change orders for adherence to department and State Comptroller's requirements.-Monitor contract status reports and payments.-Arrange for publication and requests for proposals, participate in pre-bid meetings and bid openings.-Perform economic evaluations of Conservationist Magazine contracts and projects, and review and analyze financing mechanisms. -Develop and monitor funding expenditure plans to provide financial resources for magazine projects, fulfilment and promotion.-Record and abstract revenues and royalties from customers. -Track and report revenues in agency's fiscal management system.-Review incoming subscription payments for accuracy and prepare for processing.-Manage and report daily subscriptions into data management system.-Manage magazine storage and large mailings with OGS warehouse.-Manage magazine fulfilment, correspondence, and customer service. -Review and manage postage/copyright accounts to ensure proper balances are available for magazine shipments.-Calculate issue count and communicate with print vendor.-Review and manage contributor invoices.-Coordinate the mailing of back issues and/or copies of articles to subscribers.-Carry out small projects, serving as a member of a Conservationist Magazine team to complete segments of larger more complex projects, as assistant to the Managing Editor; and make determinations or recommendations based on your own investigations and analyses.-Assists with the development of public relations programs and promotions for the magazine. -Work closely with Public Participation Specialists to develop and implement public participation work plans.-Develop and conduct meetings and outreach events to coordinate and disseminate information to executive staff, agency staff, and the public on short- and long-term publication content and agency messaging.
