Job Description

Glyph Language Services is currently seeking a confident, analytical, experienced, customer-focused full-time Contract Localization & Interpretation Project Manager . As a Glyph PM you will work closely with internal project teams and a broad network of linguists and interpreters to guide each phase of localization and interpretation projects to a successful completion. This is a contract remote position.

General responsibilities include :

  • Manage translation, localization and interpretation projects, and ensure for all projects in-depth understanding of the scope and objectives of the project; provide defined, comprehensive and achievable schedules for all tasks related to projects, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Provide appropriate selection of best qualified talent for both localization and interpretation projects.
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot project bottlenecks and communicate issues to appropriate stakeholders while endeavoring to resolve them independently
  • Conduct thorough interpretation needs assessments to understand client requirements; define the project scope, languages, appropriate interpretation typology (consecutive, simultaneous, etc.), and the expected outcomes.
  • Review final localization deliverables to ensure that all linguistic elements have been correctly translated and proofread; provide translation, editing and/or proofreading.
  • Assist in the development of English language source glossaries and in the translation of glossaries, based on applicable language skills; develop terminology research guidelines or toolkits for translators; develop style guidelines for translation teams related to grammar, tone and other linguistic aspects of communication.
  • Manage existing and ongoing relationships with talent to maximize value and to promote loyalty to Glyph.
  • Proactively manage both localization and interpretation client expectations with regard to timelines and deliverables.
  • Perform other duties ancillary to project management/production

Required Qualifications

  • A combination of at least 2 years in localization AND interpretation project management
  • Native or near-native fluency in English
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Aptitude for resourceful organization, accurate and creative prioritization and a proactive  solutions orientation
  • Poise and flexibility in dealing with ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work with deadlines
  • Highly proficient in use of MS Office Suite

Desired Qualifications

  • Good familiarity with content localization and translation memory applications; ideal candidate is expert in XTRF, memoQ
  • Native or near-native fluency in a third language other than native and English
  • Bachelors or Master's in translation/language arts
