Position Title: Compliance and Safety Specialist
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager
Position Overview
The Compliance and Safety Specialist will ensure that all company operations, especially in auto glass repair and replacement services, adhere to regulatory standards and safety protocols. This role involves implementing safety measures, conducting regular audits, and ensuring the organization complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor compliance with industry regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and local environmental laws.
Update policies and procedures in line with changes to industry regulations and standards.
Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory bodies as required.
Safety Oversight:
Develop and implement workplace safety programs to ensure the safety of technicians, mobile staff, and customers.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, vehicles, and tools.
Investigate accidents or incidents and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Training and Development:
Organize
Maintain training records and ensure certifications are up to date.
Risk Assessment:
Perform risk assessments for on-site and in-shop operations to identify potential hazards.
Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks.
Recordkeeping and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
Generate monthly compliance and safety performance reports for management review.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Compliance Management, or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
2+ years of experience in a compliance, safety, or similar role, preferably in an automotive or service-related industry.
Certifications:
OSHA Certification or equivalent safety certification (preferred).
Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices in the automotive service industry.
Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and incident investigation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train staff and collaborate with management.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions
Work will involve both office-based tasks and on-site inspections at service locations or customer sites.
Some travel may be required to monitor mobile operations.
