Commercial Paint Assistant Project Manager
**Job Description:**
**Position Overview:**
As a Commercial Paint Assistant Project Manager with 1+ years of experience, you will be responsible for managing and estimating commercial painting projects from inception to completion. You will utilize your expertise in project management and estimation to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Estimation:** Utilize your experience and knowledge to accurately estimate material, labor, and equipment costs for commercial painting projects.
2. **Bid Preparation:** Prepare detailed and competitive bids based on project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents.
3. **Project Management:** Oversee all aspects of commercial painting projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
4. **Client Communication:** Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
5. **Quality Control:** Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
6. **Safety Compliance:** Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.
7. **Vendor and Subcontractor Management:** Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services. Negotiate contracts and oversee subcontractor performance to ensure adherence to project requirements.
8. **Budget Management:** Monitor project budgets closely and identify potential cost-saving opportunities. Take proactive measures to control costs and maximize profitability.
9. **Change Management:** Manage change orders effectively, assessing the impact on project scope, schedule, and budget, and communicating changes to all relevant parties.
10. **Documentation:** Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and progress reports.
**Requirements:**
1. **Education:** Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
2. **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial painting APM/Project Engineer OR 1 year of experience as an APM/Project Engineer for a commercial subcontractor OR 1 year of experience as APM/Project Engineer in general commercial construction
3. **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar tools. Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
4. **Project Management Skills:** Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
5. **Communication Skills:** Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
6. **Leadership Skills:** Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams to achieve excellence.
7. **Problem-Solving Skills:** Ability to identify issues, develop creative solutions, and resolve conflicts in a timely and efficient manner.
8. **Attention to Detail:** Keen attention to detail and accuracy in estimation, budgeting, and project documentation.
9. **Team Player:** Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster positive working relationships.
