Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Clinical Nurse IV is responsible for the functions related to the delivery of patient care, as it relates to the inpatient/outpatient PICC Line patient. The Clinical Nurse IV is responsible and accountable for the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care provided to the patients. Assists, and educates the nursing staff providing the day to day care. Provides PICC Line insertion to patients of all ages, following standard PICC Line procedures. Assists the Nurse Manager in leading, planning, controlling and evaluating nursing practices and operations as it relates to the PICC Lines. Provides patient care to an assigned group of patients and is considered the clinical expert and resource for the PICC Line specialty. The CN IV incorporates the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other using clinical knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Serves as a role model, clinical resource and leader to colleagues, staff, patients and students.

Required Qualifications: - Working knowledge of Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements present in an acute care setting
- Strong customer service orientation as well as written and oral communication skills
- Minimum 4 years experience as a nurse, including a minimum of 1 year as a PICC Line nurse
- Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills with the ability to lead effectively
- Completion of x-ray interpretation course for PICC tip location
- Completion of PICC insertion course, including didactic and practicum
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with MS Word and MS Outlook
- All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications: - IV ultrasound competent
- Experience placing Pediatric PICC lines
