Job Summary:

The Department of Medicine is seeking a provider who is dedicated to delivering empathetic patient care, while playing a pivotal role in improving the overall patient experience through clinical informatics. We seek candidates who are energized by a complex patient population and working on a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team. They will also bring their wealth of knowledge to support the departmental informatics needs of support, innovation, EHR optimization, and end-user optimization. A successful candidate will be equal parts compassionate and comprehensive in their care, and enthusiastic to teach this approach to groups of dedicated and eager learners.

Responsibilities:

Provide provide clinical patient care, admitting and managing hospital inpatients, including serving as staff to pre-op evaluation clinic, post-discharge rapid follow-up clinic. Provide clinical and informatics teaching to fellows, residents, medical students, and other learners.

The preferred candidate will either have experience teaching and working with a diverse population or will welcome a commitment to teaching and working with a diverse population. They will also have a robust working knowledge of clinical informatics and the ability to collaborate on multidisciplinary teams for process improvement and implementation. Participation in research endeavors of the Division expected.

Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
MD, DO, or equivalent

Qualifications:

Exceptional attention to detail; ability to balance multiple, often competing priorities; ability to collaborate on a multidisciplinary team; commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment; excellent communication skills with an emphasis on patient empathy; ability to translate complex data sets into easily-readable reports

At least 2 years of experience as a clinical informaticist preferred. Clinical informatics fellowship or graduate coursework preferred. Board Eligible or Board Certified in Clinical Informatics preferred.

License/Certification:

Required

Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Expectation is to Board Certified within the first two years of appointment.

Must be eligible for a Wisconsin medical license.

Full or Part Time: 50% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
