Job Description

Our client, a brand-new Café, is the newest addition to the culinary scene. Located in Manhasset, Americana Mall, the café looking for experienced Barista / Server to provide exceptional service and create memorable experiences for our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our inaugural café opening and showcase your skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role requires candidates to possess a valid NASSAU food handling license. The café will primarily focus on beverage service, with some light food prep and counter service responsibilities. Candidates should be comfortable multitasking and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. • Hourly Rate: $21.00 plus tips

Responsibilities:

• Greet and engage with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Educate customers about our menu offerings, including coffee, tea, and café food items.
• Take accurate orders, paying attention to specific requests and dietary preferences.
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages according to recipes and customer preferences.
• Process cash, debit, and credit payments efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including the service area and seating areas.
• Ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of espresso machines and brewing equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including sanitation practices and food handling procedures.
• Communicate customer feedback to management and suggest improvements or new menu items.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Barista, Food Server, or similar role in a café or restaurant setting.
• Must have a Nassau Food Handlers.
• Hands-on experience with espresso machines and brewing equipment.
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations and food safety practices.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math skills for processing payments and calculating orders.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with customers and coworkers in a positive manner.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or certifications are a plus.
