Duties and responsibilities are related to directing and supervising operations related to all parking facilities. The position provides oversight for designated staffing, cashiering, traffic management, and other activities that are associated with daily parking operation of enforcement.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The positions primary position responsibilities are to provide supervision of daily staffing for all aspects of parking operations. Staff requirements should always respond to and project daily business and events. This may include preparing daily operational reports, scheduling employees for work, and provide relief of Cashiers, Parking Services Agents, and student attendants during break and lunch periods.
- Supervise the daily review of parking lots and structures. The review should concentrate on vehicle compliance with parking rules and regulations.
- Identify and provide solutions to maintenance, enforcement, and customer service problems that could negatively impact the operation.
- Respond to and assist in resolving emergency situations such as power failures, vehicle accidents in lots, injury to customers, etc.
- Supervise the regulation of traffic into and out of parking facilities during special events and in unforeseen situations such as unscheduled relocations, equipment malfunction, and traffic congestion.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of new or improved Parking Services Programs.
- Assist in the preparation or revision of parking regulations and other policies.
- Work with other managers of Parking Services to create a positive rapport with faculty, staff, and students by maintaining a strong customer focus. The wide variety of tasks and duties require a large degree of flexibility and versatility to undertake assignments as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- one year of experience in traffic engineering, public works, traffic enforcement, or parking- or traffic-pattern layout or design
Preferred Qualifications:
- The position requires a thorough understanding of parking operations and customer service, and the components which will yield a quality customer service department.
- The ability to interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for customers in a positive, clear manner is important.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to make independent and discretionary decisions.
