Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

Job Summary


The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator assists with coordination and support for several research projects broadly related to development and implementation of evidence-based practices to support children on the autism spectrum.
Under the direction of senior staff, the incumbent will assist with training volunteers to assist with assessment visits and input study data, assisting with study recruitment, managing purchases, travel expenses, scheduling project activities, preparing project meeting materials. Other duties include data entry and management, maintaining accurate lists of participants, managing and editing surveys using Qualtrics and/or REDCap, communicating with the caregivers and providers, including program leaders. The position is also responsible for coordination of data, including assisting with data cleaning and analyses. The position will support development of materials and monitoring procedures for training in the use of research evidence.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.A. /B.S. in Psychology, Human Development or similar field and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
  • Experience interacting with and collecting sensitive information from clinical research subjects
  • Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations Experience participating in multiple large projects and maintaining a database
  • Experience using and maintaining video capturing software and conducting behavioral coding related to autism intervention in classroom settings.
  • Tracking and record keeping skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, ishare, and basic computer skills
  • Strong analytical skills including data entry and analyses software familiarity
  • Flexibility to manage changes in scheduling and community participation Ability to exercise discretion to ensure that participant confidentiality is maintained, and a professional, respectful environment exists at all times
  • Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals at all levels within the organization to secure and/or provide information to clarify situations, resolve problems, and to foster and promote the goals of the organization.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines, develop and carry out project assignments in an efficient and timely manner, and to provide accurate and succinct documentation of activities.

  • Skills to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated skills to perform detail-oriented tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

Department Overview

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has approximately 65 residents in six residency training programs and 90 faculty and staff psychiatrists and psychologists at the UC Davis Medical Center and the Northern California VA Health System. The Department provides a stimulating teaching and academic environment. .
